About Oliver’s Rooftop
Oliver’s Rooftop is named in honor of Oliver Hazard Perry, an American naval commander most known for his heroic role in the 1813 Battle of Lake Erie. Visitors to Oliver’s Rooftop will have the chance to view Perry’s flagship, the US Brig Niagara, in her home port adjacent to the restaurant. The Brig Niagara was constructed in 1813 in Misery Bay, which is visible from Oliver’s Rooftop. If you’re visiting from out of town, we recommend planning some time to visit our neighboring Erie Maritime Museum to learn more about Erie’s naval heritage and Oliver Hazard Perry.
Oliver’s Rooftop is the crowning jewel atop Hampton Inn & Suites on the beautiful Erie Bayfront. The construction of the hotel and restaurant represents the initial phase of a mixed-use development project named Harbor Place, which will be the ideal place to Live, Work & Play.
Harbor Place will be built in multiple phases and will eventually include a second waterfront restaurant, office space, an extend-stay style hotel, retail shops, parking garage, a skating rink, water fountains, condominiums and apartments.
Oliver’s Rooftop and Harbor Place are owned & operated by Erie-based hospitality group, Scott Enterprises. Scott Enterprises will ultimately invest over $160 million into the Harbor Place project and improving Erie’s beautiful bayfront.
