Oliver’s is named in honor of Oliver Hazard Perry, an American naval commodore most known for his heroic role in the 1813 Battle of Lake Erie. This battle is considered to have been the pivotal American victory in the Battle of 1812. Visitors of Oliver’s Rooftop will have the chance to view Perry’s 110-foot flagship, the US Brig Niagara, moored in her home port adjacent to the restaurant. We look forward to welcoming you to Oliver’s Rooftop for an incredible and memorable dining experience! We are grateful to the Erie community for voting us Best New Restaurant in the 2021 Erie’s Choice Awards, Best Romantic Restaurant, Best Waterfront Dining in the 2021 Best of Erie Awards, and Best Overall Dining in the 2022 Best of Lake Erie Awards. Celebrating Our History

Oliver’s Rooftop is named in honor of Oliver Hazard Perry who was an American Naval commander most known for his heroic role in the 1813 Battle of Lake Erie. Perry’s flagship, the US Brig Niagara was constructed in 1813 in Misery Bay, which is visible from Oliver’s Rooftop. Today, the Brig Niagara can be found in her home port adjacent to the restaurant! If you’re visiting from out of town, be sure to visit our neighboring Erie Maritime Museum to learn more about Erie’s naval heritage and Oliver Hazard Perry.
